Iron Man Review
Iron Man is a Marvel-licensed slot machine by Playtech that it released in between the first and second Iron Man films. The game borrows from both movies, uses elements from the comic books but also has its own distinct style. Additionally, this game is part of the Ultimate Power series, which are progressive jackpots that link all of the Marvel slot machines developed by Playtech.
Gameplay
This slot machine has 25 paylines and allows up to 10 coins per line. Coins range from as low as $0.01 to as high $100, in theory, but many online casino limit it to $5. Therefore, the minimum bet is $0.01, and the minimum bet to include all lines is $0.25. The big bet will usually be around $1,250 but again, in theory, could be as high as $25,000. The controls are all self-explanatory and include a coin size selector and buttons for auto start, line count, coins per line, bet max and spin.
Special Features
The Iron Man slot machine has two distinct jackpot symbols, and those symbols can be used in a mixed combo. Most of the game’s standard symbols have a linked symbol that allows them to support these mixed combos as well. The Iron Man logo is the scatter and can pay out up to 100 coins. If the jackpot symbols stack on the second, third or fourth reel, they become an expanding wild, and it is possible to hit this feature on all three of those reels at the same time.
Three or more scatter symbols also launches the Missile Attack bonus game that awards free games, multipliers and cash prizes. Additionally, every spin gives the player a shot at a progressive jackpot, and the player’s chances and potential top prize are dictated by the size of the overall stake for that spin.
Graphics & Audio
Iron Man uses an attractive art style that is modern and suits the story well. Tony Stark is drawn as he is in the current comic books, and hardcore fans will appreciate that touch. The sound effects are serviceable if not a bit nondescript, and the music only plays while viewing the pay table.
Jackpot
The standard line jackpot is 5,000 times the line bet, which could be worth as much as $250,000 in the $5 scenario with 10 coins on the line. It is possible to hit the jackpot on all 25 lines, which allows for exceptionally large paydays, particularly if the casino supports coin sizes higher than $5. Note that jackpot wins that mix and match the two jackpot symbols are only worth 750 times the line bet.
Overall
The multi-level Marvel Jackpot has always been one of our favorite progressive pots, and Iron Man is a fun, fast-paced way to have a shot at it. This game’s mixed pay feature definitely makes a difference, and we often hit the mixed pairs enough that we never go on very long losing streaks.
